Colin's Hope
VHS Swim & Dive Team's VIPER 10K Fundraiser
Each year, the Vandegrift Swim and Dive team swims 10000 yards (5.68 miles) during a practice that is affectionately called the "Viper 10k".
In the past, the Viper 10k has been a booster club fundraiser to help with team travel expenses. This school year, the team and booster club are paying it forward. The Viper 10k is a fundraiser for Colin's Hope. Colin's Hope's mission is to raise water safety awareness to prevent children from drowning. Drowning is the No. 1 cause of accidental death for children under 5 and a leading cause for ages 1-14. While no one, including a high school swimmer, is drown-proof, drowning is preventable.
The Viper 10k is on November 20, 2017, from 7:30 to 10:30am, at the Bella Mar Lap Pool.
As an athlete ambassador, each team member will swim 10000 yards and ask for your support through a donation to Colin's Hope. Each donation will help fund the preschool swim safety program.
As you make your donation, please mention the name of your Viper athlete in the comments (donation message) section. Each athlete has a fundraising goal of $150. Plus, there are prizes for the top fundraisers.
