I am once again thrilled to be a Colin's Hope Athlete Ambassador as we take to the water on September 1st for the Got2Swim Lake Austin 10K. This will be my 5th year ... 3 solo swims and the second with my relay partner and good friend Jay Kleberg. It is always a great journey! What makes this year extra special however, is that my daughter Parish will join the effort by competing and raising funds for the Colin's Hope Kids Triathlon on September 18th. When I asked her what she thought about the events, she said "I want kids to learn how to swim so they can be safe in the water. I want everyone to have a fun day." I couldn't be more proud! Parish will swim 100 meters, bike 2.2 miles, and run .6 miles just 3 days after her 7th birthday. She was not even 3 years old when she greeted me at the finish line of my first swim (picture above), and now together we are helping to raise water safety awareness and prevent children from drowning. Great things have been accomplished but there is more work to be done. We thank you for your support ... every dollar we raise makes a difference. Here's to making September 1st and September 18th the Best Days Ever!
