Did you know that 78 Texas children lost their lives to a fatal drowning last year? Or that 5x as many children survived a non-fatal drowning incident? This year, Texas has already lost 56 children and we are only partway through this long, hot summer!
Drowning is the #1 cause of accidental death for children under 5 and the leading cause for ages 1-14! While no-one is drownproof, drowning is preventable!
On Friday, August 17th, We (Will, Jake, Trent) will be competing as a relay in the Colin's Hope GOT2SWIM 10K through Lake Austin. Our goal is to raise a minimum of $1,500 to support Colin's Hope Foundation! 100% of donations will go towards teaching and saving children's lives. Stocking and restocking life jacket loaner stations, providing safety classes and swim lessons to preschool children and providing water safety education to parents/families/communities are just a few ways your donations will be used.
Come out and cheer us on bright & early at 7 am, or at the finish line on August 17th! Please pledge your support for drowning prevention by making a donation of any amount to our pledge page. Every dollar raised means drownings prevented and lives saved. Thank you for sharing the vision of a world where children do not drown!
