Every day, kids swim, bathe and play near water. Nearly 40 Texas kids have drowned in lifeguarded pools, pools at expensive hotels, bathtubs and even buckets just this year. Colin's Hope's mission is to educate kids and their adult Water Guardians about how to be safe around water. From online resources to outreach events full of water safety games, to donations of loaner life jackets at public beaches, to structured water safety programs at pools hosted by neighborhoods and churches, Colin's Hope is doing the right things to help save lives. 

This is my second year participating in the Got2Swim 10k. In 2018, I participated as a member of a three-person relay.

This year on Friday August 16th, I will tackle the full 6.2 miles solo with the goal of finishing in 3.5 hrs or less, and a stretch goal of finishing in less than 3 hrs (!!). That's far more swimming than I have ever done at one time in my 40 years of swimming. I have to admit - it's a little daunting!
