Last year I had an amazing time swimming my first 10k in over 20 years... so I said to myself let's do it again but with more purpose.
Many of you helped me become one of the Top Fundraisers for the Colin's Hope Got2Swim. I am hoping you are willing to do it again.
On August 16, a small group of us will participate in a 10k swim in Lake Austin, finishing at the Pennybacker bridge. There will be solo swimmers (you know the crazy people like me), teams of two and several relays of three people. I am not sure how to explain it other than to say participating was one of the best things I did last year. More importantly though all of us are trying to raise awareness around water safety. This year, 59 Texas children have lost their lives to preventable drownings. As a swimmer and a professed water rat, this is unacceptable.
