Hello, everybody, my name is Norah Carr, I have been a competitive swimmer for 10 years now, and I am participating in the 2020 Colin's Hope Got2Swim. I have participated in the Got2Swim in the past and usually, it is a big event where you get together with other swimmers and do a huge open water swim. Unfortunately this year we won't be able to do this due to Covid-19, however, we have an alternative opportunity that will still let us raise awareness about drowning and raising money for this amazing non-profit organization. When all the pools were closed because of Covid-19, my mom and I went out to Lake Travis so that I could open water swim! My mom was always by my side in her kyack because everyone needs a water guardian while swimming, no matter what their skill level is! Of course, I always had my Colin's Hope water buoy attached to me too! Since the pools have now opened back up I have been going and swimming everyday to try and get back in my routine as much as I can! This year my goals are to swim a marathon by September 2nd and raise $1000 for Colin's Hope, so I would really appreciate anything that you can give that will help me reach my goal! I will be swimming for Brayden Zieg, a 17-month-old who sadly lost his life to fatal drowning in 2008. I really love this organization and its mission to help prevent drowning because not only am I a swimmer, but I am also a lifeguard and I am very passionate about preventing drowning because what people don't realize is that NOBODY is drown-proof.
